How Job Hunter for LinkedIn Works

Job Hunter for LinkedIn is a Chrome extension paired with a web dashboard. It watches your LinkedIn feed as you browse and finds posts that contain direct contact info — emails, phone numbers, and apply links — matching your chosen keywords.

It only reads what is already visible on your screen as you browse LinkedIn normally. No LinkedIn credentials are ever touched.

Keywords are the terms the extension looks for inside every LinkedIn post. Type a keyword and press Enter or , to add it as a tag. You can add as many as you need.

Because different recruiters write skill names differently, always add every spelling variation as a separate keyword:

⚠️ Only add keywords from one job domain. Mixing unrelated roles — for example python + graphic design + BDE, or python + UI/UX — means a single post would need to mention all of them, which almost never happens. Keep each search focused on one role.

Choose what kind of posts you want to find:

Open to Work — posts from candidates who are available and looking. Best if you are a recruiter or hiring manager.

Any — finds both types. Useful when you want maximum coverage.

Filter posts by the work arrangement mentioned in the post text:

• Remote / WFH
• Hybrid
• Onsite
• Any

Selecting Any returns all posts regardless of work arrangement.

Once your keywords and filters are set, click ▶ Start Watching.

2. 2As you scroll, it reads every post that appears on screen — expanding truncated posts to see the full text.
3. 3A post is kept only if it contains a direct contact (email or phone) and matches at least one of your keywords.

⚠️ The extension finds posts that appear on your feed as you scroll. The more you scroll, the more posts it checks. It does not search LinkedIn's database — it reads what LinkedIn shows you on screen.

⚠️ Avoid leaving Start Watching running non-stop for 1 hour or more. LinkedIn does not keep surfacing genuinely new posts forever, so a long continuous session mostly re-checks content you have already seen — and can cause LinkedIn's own feed to slow down or misbehave. Watch in shorter sessions (roughly 30-45 minutes), then pause, refresh your feed, and start a new session.

The 🔎 Search on LinkedIn button takes your keywords, runs them through an AI optimizer, and opens a LinkedIn content search with a clean, high-converting query.

This is useful when your feed does not have enough relevant posts yet — searching LinkedIn's content directly surfaces fresh posts from outside your network. After the search opens, start watching on the results page the same way you would on your feed.

The dashboard at /dashboard shows every post the extension has found. New matches appear automatically as you scroll LinkedIn — no manual refresh needed.

Pro and Elite plan users get their found posts automatically synced to a secure cloud database, accessible at /dashboard/saved from any device.

Free plan users store posts locally in the browser extension only — nothing leaves your machine.

All found posts can be exported from the toolbar on any dashboard page. Three formats are available:

JSON

Structured data — useful for importing into other tools.

CSV

Spreadsheet-ready — open directly in Excel or Google Sheets.

🔐 Encrypted Backup

A .ljhenc file with all your data encrypted with your account key. Available to all users — recommended for keeping a personal backup on your own machine.

💡 Free plan: Your found posts are stored locally in the extension. They will be lost if you clear browser data, uninstall the extension, or if your system shuts down unexpectedly without a backup. Export an encrypted backup regularly and restore it anytime via /dashboard/import.

The extension finds posts that appear on your LinkedIn feed. If your feed is full of unrelated content, you will see fewer matches. Here is how to improve it:

1. 1Unfollow accounts that post motivational quotes, memes, or viral content unrelated to your field.
2. 2Click ⋯ → I don't want to see this on irrelevant posts to train the LinkedIn algorithm.
3. 3Connect with recruiters, HR professionals, and founders in your target industry.
4. 4Follow hashtags like #hiring, #opentowork, #techjobs relevant to your role.
